Arteta: We are very alert in the transfer window

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said the club are "alert" in the transfer window following further injury blows.

Arteta confirmed that Ethan Nwaneri, who scored his first goal for the club during Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Brighton, will be sidelined for a "few weeks".

Speaking at his news conference ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Newcastle, Arteta said:

"The focus is on our players, whatever is in the market, we are very alert.

"The priority is working with the players we have at the moment."

Pressed further on whether they would be ruling out making any moves in the transfer window he said:

“It’s not a yes, it’s not a no!”
