Harry Maguire's £4 million mansion got flooded as the Manchester United star hosted a New Year's Eve party.

The 31-year-old welcomed 2025 with a festive gathering, marking the occasion with laughter and joy alongside his loved ones, with England team-mate Jordan Pickford among the attendees.

But just a few hours after the new year was rung in, the area was hit by heavy rains, leaving his landscaped gardens under nearly three feet of water. The flooding, which hit several properties in the Cheshire neighbourhood, came out of the blue, catching many residents off guard.

The Sun says that Maguire and his guests tried to stop the water from getting into his fancy home. But even though they tried to stop it, the unexpected deluge ruined what had been a night of celebration. Maguire and his wife Fern, 29, got straight on fixing the damage. They worked really hard with the help of their guests in the early hours of the morning to control the rising waters.

The downpours that hit Greater Manchester and Cheshire caused chaos across the region, with an entire month's worth of rain falling in just 48 hours. Local emergency services declared a major incident, responding to over 100 calls for assistance. In Maguire's neighbourhood, the flooding not only affected homes but also led to infrastructure damage. The Bridgewater Canal burst its banks near Little Bollington, causing a watery rush that forced residents to evacuate. They even closed a section of the M56 motorway while they were dealing with it. Mountain rescue teams were sent out to help those who were trapped.

Maguire will be back on the pitch soon, as Manchester United are set to play league leaders Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
