Manchester City are interested in signing the highly rated central defender Abdukodir Khusanov this month, it has been revealed.
The bigwigs at Etihad Stadium are raring to get started on what's being called a major shake-up of Pep Guardiola's options in 2025. Some reports are saying that as many as eight new signings could be brought in across the next two transfer windows.
This work is likely to start in a pretty unusual way for Manchester City, with the idea being that up to three new players could be brought in halfway through the season to try and revive their campaign across competitions.
Pep Guardiola and his players have found themselves in a really surprising run of form across competitions, winning just two matches in their last 14 in the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, and Carabao Cup.
So, as part of their search for new talent to work under Pep Guardiola and bring in a new generation at Manchester City over the next two and a half seasons, it's now been confirmed that the club is looking at one of the best talents in French football.
That's according to transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, who says that Manchester City officials have now added RC Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov to their list for the ongoing January transfer window.
Romano says that 'several' top clubs are also interested in the 20-year-old, who they think is 'one of the best talents in his position'. But he says the race is 'open' and that City are being kept 'well-informed' on the player.
