Ruben Amorim's honeymoon period is over as he looks to recover from back-to-back losses.
The Red Devils lost to Arsenal and then made a mess of things against Nottingham Forest at home, losing 3-2. Next up is Viktoria Plzeň in the Europa League.
Man Utd have been a bit up and down this season, both at home and in Europe, but they're still unbeaten in the Europa League. Three disappointing draws were followed by home victories over Greek outfit PAOK and Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt.
Viktoria Plzeň have an almost identical Europa League record to Man Utd this season. They drew their opening three before securing back-to-back wins. They have conceded seven during the league phase, the same as the Red Devils, but have scored one fewer than Thursday's visitors.
Viktoria Plzeň has a few players out with injuries ahead of Thursday's game against Manchester United. Svetozar Marković is the latest to be sidelined, having been substituted after just 23 minutes in the weekend win over Karvina.
It looks like three of our forwards will be missing the midweek game, with Prince Adu, Christophe Kabongo and Rafiudou Rossimi unlikely to play. It's not looking good for defender Jan Sikora and defensive midfielder Matej Valenta either.
The main injuries to the Manchester United squad are in defence. Harry Maguire and Lenny Yoro have both made a full recovery since Amorim took over, and their fitness has improved even more in preparation for Thursday's Europa League game. Victor Lindelöf has been back in training with United and could play against Plzeň. Jonny Evans has also started training again.
However, United are again without Luke Shaw. The left-back came off the bench in Amorim's first three games in charge but has since suffered a minor setback that will keep him out of the next few weeks.
It seems that Amorim will make some changes to the midfield and forward line-up. Captain Bruno Fernandes, who was taken off with fatigue in the midweek match against Nottingham Forest, might get a chance to rest this round, with academy graduate Toby Collier possibly getting a chance to play.
Rasmus Hojlund has scored eight European goals for Manchester United and could become the third player under the age of 21 to score nine goals for the Red Devils, after Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford. Hojlund did well in the last Europa League game, so Amorim might give the Danish striker a chance to start in the game.
