On Wednesday night, Arsenal and Monaco will meet in the Arsène Wenger derby for just the third time in Champions League history.
The first time these two clubs met in a competitive match, Wenger's Arsenal team lost to Monaco, who were not expected to win. The first leg of the 2015 round of 16 match ended 3-1 at home. That meant Arsenal had to wait longer than usual to make it through to the next stage of the competition. It wasn't until last year that the Gunners finally got over the line and made it through to the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.
While Wednesday's match might not be as crucial as their previous encounters, both teams can significantly advance towards the round of 16 with a win. The two teams are tied on points after five games, with Arsenal in seventh place and Monaco in eighth.
Arsenal's winning streak came to an end on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Fulham, while Monaco got back to winning ways in Ligue 1 by beating Toulouse. Both teams are currently placed third in their respective domestic leagues ahead of Wednesday's game.

Arsenal's defensive injury crisis worsened at the weekend when Oleksandr Zinchenko was ruled out of Sunday's clash with Fulham after starting last week's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Supporters will be desperate to see both Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori back in contention as soon as possible, but the quick turnaround could see the pair miss out again on Wednesday.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain out for the hosts, while Jurrien Timber will start at left-back against Fulham.
There's bound to be some rotation further up the pitch. Mikel Merino, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are all in contention to start.
Former Premier League defenders Mohammed Salisu and Thilo Kehrer are likely to be forced into Monaco's backline due to suspensions. Wilfried Singo was sent off against Benfica on Matchday 5, sparking the French side's collapse, while Christian Mawissa will miss Wednesday's match through yellow card accumulation.
Folarin Balogun, who left Arsenal in 2023, is one of several attacking absentees. The former Gunner won't return to the Emirates in midweek due to a shoulder injury.
Krepin Diatta and Edan Diop will also be out at the sidelines.
