Mohamed Salah is about to sign a new contract with Liverpool. The Reds have reached an agreement with the star forward over a new deal.
Liverpool are close to reaching an agreement with Mohamed Salah over an extension. His contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
Since Luis Suárez left in 2014, Salah has been the best forward Liverpool has had in that position. In fact, he could be considered their best player in the Premier League era. However, the Egyptian's contract is due to expire in the summer of 2025, and there has been a lot of speculation about what he'll do next.
The Mirror says Liverpool are now close to getting a new contract with Salah. The club's top brass were only willing to extend Salah's contract by one year at first, but his representative, Rammy Abbas, told Liverpool he wanted his client to have a three-year deal. It looks like a two-year contract has been agreed upon, with money never being the sticking point in negotiations.
Salah is still a key player for Liverpool, as evidenced by his 13 goals and eight assists in 14 Premier League games this season. In 370 games for Liverpool, he's scored 226 goals and won two League Cups, the FA Cup, the Premier League, and the Champions League.
Liverpool is set to take on Girona in the Champions League on Tuesday, 10 December. The Reds are looking to keep up their winning streak in Europe.
