The group stage matchups for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 have been decided.
The 2025 tournament will be a major change from the previous Club World Cup, with 32 clubs participating for the first time in history. Amidst a flurry of pros and cons, this tournament will be held in the United States for about a month from June 15th next year, the year before the 2026 World Cup, and will bring together the champions of each continent from 2021 to 2024 to compete for the title of the world's best club.
The group stage matchups were decided on the 5th. This year's Champions League champion Real Madrid will be in Group H with Al Hilal and Salzburg. In addition, the previous Club World Cup champion Manchester City will be in Group G with Juventus and others.
In addition, Urawa Reds, the only Japanese team participating, will face Inter Milan and the powerful Argentine River Plate in Group E. Lionel Messi's Inter Miami will face Palmeiras and Porto in Group A, aiming to advance to the round of 16, where the top two teams from each group can advance.
