The New York Yankees are getting serious about bringing Juan Soto back into the mix.

After five teams made initial offers following their meetings last week in California, the Yankees are looking to get ahead of the pack.

With just two weeks until the Winter Meetings in Dallas, the Yankees reportedly increased their offer for the 26-year-old phenom, according to Jon Heyman of The New York Post.

"The Yankees upgraded their initial bid within the past couple of days to superstar free agent outfielder Juan Soto, perhaps improving their position in a free agent sweepstakes that involves at least five big-market teams, according to people familiar with the situation," Heyman wrote.

Heyman also reported that the Yankees are willing to include opt-outs throughout the life of the contract as a part of the package or Soto.

However, no dollar figure was made known from the increased offer.

After the Los Angeles Dodgers signed lefty ace Blake Snell to a five-year, $182 million deal late Tuesday night — a player the Yankees were reportedly in on — it makes sense that they would try to get a leg up in the sweepstakes for Soto.

Despite playing only one season in pinstripes, Soto fit right in. He launched a career-high 41 home runs while logging a .288/.419/.569 slash line with 109 RBI and 119 walks.

The sweepstakes for Soto's services are far from over, but the Yankees are seemingly pushing the envelope.
