Mason Mount could have a big role to play for Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, with the new head coach telling club media that he "loves" him.
The England international has struggled with injury and form issues since moving to Old Trafford in 2023, but Amorim believes his system could benefit Mount.
"Mason Mount....I have to tell you that I love that kid. You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me.
"I know he was suffering from injuries, he was not o the pitch, but now he is trying to stay fit and we hope he can continue to be fit, to show all the talent that he's shown, for example, in Chelsea.
"He's played in this system before, so it's perfect for him. I have two positions for Mason Mount so he should be very happy."
Amorim also provided an update on the fitness of Luke Shaw, adding: "We have to see; we have one more training.
"But Luke [Shaw], for example, is feeling fine, but we have to build his fitness during games, so we have to be careful. I think he’s a very good player, so I will take care of him and I want these kinds of players that are important in our squad for a long period and not just for a game.
“We have some guys returning from injury, so we had some moments together, working in that indoor pitch [on] tactical work.
"We have to manage the load during this week with some players from national teams [as well], but we are ready to face Ipswich."
