Galatasaray Deputy-President Abdallah Kavukcu has stated that the club has the power to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen or any other player they are interested in.
Nigerian hitman Osimhen has quickly become the poster boy for Galatasaray since his season-long loan transfer from Napoli. The 25-year-old striker was alienated from Napoli’s squad, but he has quickly made Galatasaray his home.
He has produced eight goals and four assists in nine appearances for the reigning Turkish champions. And due to his brilliance, there have been talks that the club want to sign him permanently.
However, the problem has been the price. There have been talks that Galatasaray want to offer Napoli €50 million for Osimhen, but the deal could be a financial nightmare for the club, as they do not not have the financial muscle to carry both Osimhen’s fee and salary.
But in an interview on Thursday, the Vice-President of the club stated that Galatasaray has the financial power to prosecute any deal they want.
“If Galatasaray wants a player, we will be at that table. Galatasaray has the power to make the right transfers at the points determined by our coach. We have the power to buy more Osimhens,” Kavukcu said, per Forza Cimbom.
Despite the links, Osimhen’s major priority would be sealing a transfer to a big club in one of the top five leagues in Europe.
