The Atlanta Braves did not meet expectations in 2024. The team could be aggressive and make a trade for an impact player.
While building the Braves' "dream Opening Day lineup," FanSided's Zach Pressnell predicted that the team would trade for Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox.
"It's a blockbuster deal to acquire Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. Robert would slot into left field for the Braves as he looks to turn back to his 2023 days where he nearly clubbed 40 home runs," wrote Pressnell. "Robert is a legit threat to enter the 30/30 club if he has a little bit of protection in the lineup with him."
Robert's biggest issue over his career has been health. 2024 was the second time in his career he played over 100 games. He did not have his best season, but it's hard to imagine him being highly motivated to play for the White Sox.
"It would take a haul to bring Robert in, but the Braves have some prospects at the top of their list that they could include in the deal," wrote Pressnell.
Robert signed a six-year, $50 million deal before he made his debut. He has club options for 2026 and 2027. The control along with the talent could mean the White Sox end up getting a great package for him. Robert was an All-Star in 2023. He also won a Silver Slugger in 2023 as well.
