Neymar is thinking about retiring, but is that really the case? The Brazilian star, who returned to the field as an Al Hilal player, picked up another injury as soon as he was back in action after a long-term injury.
Neymar, who plays for Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal team, made his return to the field after 369 days. He played his first match a few weeks ago, but then on 4 November he was injured again in a match played in the AFC Champions League.
The 32-year-old came on in the 58th minute but was replaced in the 87th minute due to injury, unable to continue the game in that state. This was a huge disappointment for Neymar and Al Hilal fans alike.
The initial assessment is that Neymar will be out for about 1.5 months. While Neymar is out, Al Hilal will have to keep going without their star player. The medical team will work meticulously to get Neymar back on the field.
Will he ever be the same as he was before? After Neymar's chronic injuries, his fans who follow him closely are also waiting anxiously to see if he can make a comeback. It seems that the star player's career is over and that he will never be the same again after such major injuries.
A few days ago, Brazil-based UOL reported that Neymar is keen to wear the Santos jersey again. Santos are hoping to reunite with Neymar in the next two months if the legendary player terminates his contract with Al Hilal by mutual agreement. If he decides to stick with his current deal, though, he'll probably be back in mid-2025, when his contract expires.
Neymar, who moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Al Hilal for €90m last season, is paid €100m a year by the Saudi Arabian team
Having been away from the field for more than 200 matches due to injuries throughout his career, 32-year-old Neymar played only seven matches in two seasons at Al Hilal, scoring one goal and making three assists.
“I am very happy and I am sure it will only get better.”
After the latest rumours, Neymar finally broke his silence and gave an answer to the ongoing speculation:
“The opportunity to play here and live in a country like this is very important for people. That is why I always say that I was very well received here. I am very happy and I am sure it will only get better.
“I am sure other stars will come here. I believe that many will have the opportunity to come here, and I think that everyone should have the opportunity to experience what I have experienced here.”
