“He’s a good footballer”- Ex-Manchester City striker begs Sevilla to back Iheanacho despite slow start

Former Manchester City striker has urged Sevilla fans to rally round Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho despite his slow start to life at the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla during the last summer transfer window following the end of his seven-year stint with English Premier League club Leicester City.
The 28-year-old arrived in Seville with a big reputation as he has previously featured for Manchester City and had some exploits at Leicester City.
However, it has been a slow start to life for Iheanacho. He has struggled for game time, and when he has had it, he has not impressed much. In fact, his only goals for Sevilla came last week against fifth division side Las Rozas in the Copa del Rey.
Last weekend, he got 11 minutes of action against Real Sociedad in La Liga, but he failed to score.
Due to his struggles, Iheanacho has gotten a lot of stick, especially as Sevilla haven’t been doing well in the league.
Nonetheless, Nolito, who played for Sevilla before moving to Manchester City, where he also played Iheanacho has pleaded for more time for the Nigerian.
“He’s a good guy, and I hope he brings us some joy this year. He lacks a bit of rhythm, I am confident that he will gradually improve. He’s a good footballer,” Nolito said, per Orgullobiri.
Iheanacho’s contract lasts for just two years. So he has to impress there or he could end up at a club of lower status after his deal expires.
