Roma's offensive performance this season has set a new record for the worst start to a season for an American-owned club in many years.

Ivan Juric's team only scored eight goals in the first seven games of Serie A. They averaged 14.6 shots per game, but still had trouble finishing the games.

Only teams like Lecce, Cagliari, Venice and Genoa have done worse.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reported, the offence was mainly supported by Artem Dovbick, who scored three goals, while other main players such as El Shaarawy, Sule and Pellegrini were still unlucky, with five goals hitting the post so far.

Another main player, Paulo Dybala, is also responsible for this offensive performance. Before the season started, nobody was sure whether Dybala would end up staying at the Olympic Stadium. He did end up staying, and the fans were happy to have him back, but even so, Paulo Dybala has recently found it tough to stay on top of things.

He hasn't scored in open play since the Europa League match against AC Milan on 18 April, and his last open play goal in Serie A was on 26 February.

However, he's missed a lot of games due to injuries and suspensions. Since he's been playing for Roma, he's only played in 34 games, plus one more due to suspension.

On top of that, he's played less than 45 minutes in 16 games, which means he's played poorly in 50 of a total of 118 games.

So, head coach Ivan Juric needs to find a solution quickly to turn things around and get Roma back on the offensive and at the top of the table. But Roma's next schedule is pretty tough. They'll face Inter Milan in the next league round, then Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa League, and then go to Fiorentina away. Their next schedule is pretty challenging.
