Watch out, Scott McTominay! Napoli player's car 'stolen while he was having dinner'

Scott McTominay's Napoli team-mate reportedly had his car stolen in the third incident targeting the Italian side's players in the last month.

According to Italian outlet Il Messagero, Politano was having dinner at a local restaurant in Naples before returning to find his Smart car missing from where had parked it outside the venue.

The theft marks the third time in recent weeks that a Napoli player has been the victim of crime, which has led to some of their stars feeling unsafe in the city.

David Neres joined Napoli in August but, just days after his arrival and following his side's victory against Parma, the Brazilian had his car window smashed, with thieves robbing him of his watch, allegedly worth more than €100,000, at gunpoint.

The incident led to a Napoli-based businessman sending Neres a replacement luxury watch and a letter apologising on behalf of the city.

Defender Juan Jesus posted on social media last week after thieves broke his car window in an attempt to steal it.

“Zero safety,” the player wrote on Instagram. “After almost one month of being tailed, today they tried to steal my car. What a bad feeling, you make me vomit!”

In a second post, Jesus said he 'will never feel safe again' in Naples.

“What happened tonight is just the icing on the cake, in the space of one month I found as many as five air tags (geo-tracker) inside my car,” he wrote. AAnd just knowing that these criminals know where I live doesn’t bring me serenity, unluckily I won’t feel safe ever again in such a beautiful city. I know that material goods are of secondary importance, but knowing that a stranger violated a personal belonging really makes me sick.”

McTominay has put Napoli in the headlines for the right reasons in recent times after his standout displays for his new side, having joined the Serie A giants from Manchester United this summer.

Napoli will be hoping they can shake off any off-the-pitch troubles to continue their form at the top of the table when they travel to Empoli next weekend.
