Frenkie de Jong takes the floor. The Dutch footballer has shed light on his recovery process from the injury to his right ankle. A sprain that he suffered in the Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu on April 22. During his recovery process, which he has described as "very hard", there was much speculation about the treatment that the FC Barcelona number 21 had to undergo.
"During the recovery process I have remained silent. It is not true that the Club said that I had to have surgery and I did not want to. Because all the people at the Club, the medical services and I have agreed that not having surgery was the best option," Frenkie de Jong clarified after the debate that had emerged around his figure. During all this time, the Dutchman has also felt frustrated at not being able to play football, which is his passion.
In this interview, where he also admits that he is close to returning to the team, he wanted to be categorical with the references that have surfaced around his contract with Barça. “It is not true that I earn 37 million. It is a very high figure that is very far from the amount that I earn,” he explained.
"I want to contribute as much as possible to a happy team"One of the Barça captains has also stressed that he has been working on his recovery, both physically and mentally. "Having three injuries to the same ankle caused me a slight mental trauma, but, little by little, I am regaining the confidence to hit hard and to enter the duels," confessed a player who wants to be part of a team that plays happily. "I see the team with energy and quality. I really want to be part of this team to contribute as much as possible," concluded Frenkie de Jong, who is one step closer to returning to FC Barcelona.
