The Arsenal players celebrate.

September 28, 2024, Arsenal played against newly promoted Leicester City at home. Arsenal led 2:0 in the first half, but Leicester City tied the game tenaciously. Fortunately, Trossard, who was released from suspension, scored the winning goal at the last moment. In addition, Havertz scored a lucky goal before the end of the game to help the Gunners secure the victory. After this game, Arsenal continued to maintain an unbeaten record and ranked second with 14 points.

The Belgian winger came back from suspension to help the Gunners win as Mikel Arteta's side fought back in stoppage time. Arsenal survived a huge scare against Leicester City as late drama at the Emirates Stadium saw them score two stoppage-time goals to win 4-2, moving the north Londoners level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners were on top form in the first half. Gabriel Martinelli hadn't scored in 19 games, but he finally broke his duck with an assured finish into the far corner to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes. The Brazilian also made some great passes before half-time, setting up Trossard, who scored with ease.

After being completely outplayed in the first half, Leicester came back strong and surprised everyone at the Emirates. James Justin was the man of the moment. First, he headed the ball into the net after it was deflected by Kai Havertz. Then he volleyed the ball from distance, which was similar to Benjamin Pavard's goal against Argentina at the 2018 World Cup.

It seemed like the Foxes had done enough to get a point, with Mads Højgaard making some great saves. But then, 94 minutes in, Trossard's pass forced an own goal from Wilfred Ndidi. There was still time for more drama, too – Havertz, who had had a frustrating afternoon, added a fourth to put the game to bed.
