The England captain scored once and provided two assists while former Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise netted a brace and came up with a couple of assists as Bayern thrashed Werder Bremen 5-0. With Saturday's victory, the Bavarian club have now scored 20 goals in the last seven days across all competitions and 29 overall after just six matches into the 2024-25 season.
The 31-year-old striker was understandably exhilarated after a great week of football. He took to Instagram, writing: "Brilliant away win! Been a great week full of wins and goals. Let’s keep it going."
With his goal against Werder Bremen, the former Spurs star achieved yet another milestone in Germany as he became the highest-ever English goalscorer in Bundesliga's history surpassing Jadon Sancho's tally of 40 league goals.
The star forward will be back in action next Saturday as Vincent Kompany's side take on reigning German champions Bayer Leverkusen in a mega Bundesliga clash.
