The Red Devils failed to find the back of the net even once despite being the more dominant side as Crystal Palace held them to a goalless draw in a Premier League clash on Saturday at Selhurst Park. Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho missed two big chances in the first half, the second of which saw him hit the crossbar from inside the box.
Ten Hag was expectedly unhappy with his team's inability to convert chances despite showing domination on the pitch as he urged the players to be more clinical. United have managed to score just five goals in as many matches in the league so far this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the Dutch coach said: "When we don't win, I'm not content. We should have won. I think first half, we ate them alive. Then in the second half, it was more in the balance but first half, we should have scored one or two goals."
When specifically asked if their poor finishing let the team down, Ten Hag added: "I don't think [so], we played very good. Total control of the game. In and out of possession, I think we played very good. The only thing was in the box, that is where the game is always decided. We should be more clinical there."
With seven points from their first five Premier League games, the Manchester club find themselves 11th on the league table. They will be next seen in action on Wednesday evening as they take on Twente in their Europa League opener.
