Tottenham scored two late goals in the 88th and 92nd minute to prevent a shock upset by USMNT winger Haji Wright and Coventry City in the Carabao Cup Wednesday. The U.S. attacker logged 71 minutes, but Spurs won 2-1.

In the UEFA Champions League, Cameron Carter-Vickers helped lead Celtic to a massive 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava at Celtic Park. The 26-year-old defender logged 90 minutes, while fellow American defender Auston Trusty made a late cameo off the bench in the 84th minute - his debut for the Scottish club after a summer move from Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, Gio Reyna's Borussia Dortmund scored three late goals to defeat Club Brugge 3-0 in the European competition. The 21-year-old Reyna, however, was not on the teamsheet as he's sidelined with the same injury that kept him out of of the recent USMNT friendlies.

Wright had a rough performance against a talented Tottenham defense, attaining just 27 total touches in his 71 minutes. Only six came in the opposition box, while he completed just six total passes on the day.

Carter-Vickers was excellent for Celtic in the defense. He completed 105 of his 108 passes and had 115 touches across the match, including a 100% tackle-win rate (3/3). For his fellow American and new teammate, Trusty, it was a big moment for the 25-year-old to finally debut for the Scottish giants.

Reyna, meanwhile, is expected to return in early October.

Reyna has played just nine minutes for the Bundesliga side this season, a small cameo off the bench on Aug. 24 in a Bundesliga match against Frankfurt. During the September international window, he pulled out of the USMNT camp with a lower-leg injury.

Celtic take on Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday, with their next match in the UCL being against Reyna's Dortmund on Oct. 1. Coventry, meanwhile, are back in action on Saturday against Swansea City in the English Championship.
