Speaking at the press conference held in the lead-in to the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive MD4 fixture between Atalanta and Fiorentina kicking off on Sunday at 15:00 CEST at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, coach Gian Piero Gasperini started off his pre-match briefing by pointing out that tomorrow's game will mark the Nerazzurri's seasonal debut in a fully renewed stadium: "With the renovation of the Gewiss Stadium, President Antonio Percassi made a gesture of love to the city of Bergamo, the fans and to the history of Atalanta as well. Tomorrow, everyone will experience first-hand the magnitude and generosity behind such labour of love. The stadium will be a crowning jewel and point of reference for everyone".

The Atalanta coach then addressed the forthcoming commitment against the Viola side: "I expect the usual levelled and hotly-contested game, just like last year’s for instance. They are a tough side and a stepping stone in the run for a European spot".
