Mbappe and PSG had been advised to attempt mediation to end their current dispute regarding unpaid wages by an LFP complaints committee. PSG confirmed they were "very pleased" with the verdict, but the proposal has been rejected straightaway by the France international. The saga now looks set to be resolved in a courtroom.

Mbappe is demanding a total of €55 million ($60.6m) in unpaid wages from PSG. The figure equates to three months wages, a signing bonus and an "ethical bonus." Yet the Ligue 1 side are unwilling to pay the amount as they believe they had a verbal agreement with the attacker to waive the payment. Mbappe's mother said back in July her son was prepared to sue PSG over the matter.

The Frenchman's entourage told the AFP: "The eventuality of a mediation was mentioned this morning. This possibility was rejected during the meeting by the player's representative. A mediation would be useless so to record a lack of payment that would be seen from a simple analysis of the player's payslip."

Mbappe moved on from PSG in the summer to Real Madrid but may be set for a reunion with his former club in the law courts. In the meantime, Mbappe will return to action with Los Blancos on Saturday away at Real Sociedad in La Liga.
