The Manchester City and England defender was booted out of his house in January after influencer Lauryn Goodman informed his wife Annie Kilner that Walker was the father of her two children. Kilner was pregnant with their fourth child at that time and while the player was present during the birth of their son Rezon, he was living in an apartment in Manchester. The Daily Mail, however, reports that the 32-year-old has moved back to their marital home in Prestbury, Cheshire, as the couple are working on their marriage.

A source told the Mail: "They both really want to make it work. Their family is the centre of both of their lives. They are not sure at this point if they can work it out but they want to give it the best chance of working. The first step in that is him moving back into the house. They don't want the kids to come from a broken home and they have been together since they were 16 years old, so they are each others worlds. Annie is very protective of the boys and doesn't want to get a divorce. Kyle wants to be home with Annie and the children. They are not back together in the sense that all is forgiven and forgotten but they are physically living in the same place and trying to work out a path through it all."

The source added: "Before this he was going to the house every night to be there for bedtime with the kids so this is not radically different in some ways but it does feel like a significant step. It would be a push though to say that he and Annie have worked out their issues, as there is still much to be done."

Annie Kilner, who had last posted on her Instagram profile more than a year ago, has made a comeback to the platform as she shared a photograph of herself with her four children. In the caption she wrote: "I found my treasure in you."

Walker's only appearance for Manchester City this season came against West Ham where he spent just two minutes on the pitch. He will hope to get back to Pep Guardiola's starting line-up this weekend as the reigning English champions take on Brentford on Saturday.
