Ake was visibly emotional as he was stretchered off during the Netherlands' Nations League clash with Germany on Tuesday. The Manchester City defender pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring problem and looked to be in agony. A stretcher was quickly called and the defender seemed distraught as he was taken off the pitch.
Ake will now undergo tests to determine the severity of his injury, and Manchester City will be sweating on the results. The Premier League champions are facing a hectic schedule after the international break with games against Brentford, Inter, Arsenal, Watford and Newcastle to come before the end of the month.
Netherlands went on to draw 2-2 with Germany in the Nations League fixture. The The Dutch side have now conceded at least two goals in each of their last three matches, their longest streak since October 2015.
City will have to wait and see how much time Ake will miss with his latest injury. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's side return to Premier League action on Saturday at home to Brentford.
