According to The Independent, the Gunners are interested in bolstering their attacking options, and Sterling, who has been informed that he is not part of Enzo Maresca's plans at Chelsea, could be a viable option. However, for the deal to materialize, Chelsea would need to agree to bear a portion of Sterling's contract and wages.

The report mentions that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is on the lookout for a dynamic player to enhance his attacking lineup. It is believed that the Spaniard is eager to add depth to his attack to alleviate the pressure on Bukayo Saka, who is expected to face a demanding schedule with a game every three days after the international break.

A significant factor in Arsenal's interest in Sterling is the existing relationship between the player and Arteta. The two worked together during Arteta’s tenure as assistant manager at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. This familiarity with each other, along with Sterling’s understanding of Arsenal’s tactical style—closely resembling City’s approach—makes him an attractive option for Arteta.

Sterling is currently earning £325,000 a week at Chelsea, a figure that far exceeds Arsenal’s wage structure. The North London club is reportedly only prepared to offer around £150,000 a week, meaning Sterling would need to accept a significant pay cut to join Arsenal.

In addition to Sterling, Arsenal have been weighing up a move for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman as well. The French winger has been put on the market as Bayern seek to reduce their wage bill. Arsenal are monitoring the situation, aware that the market dynamics could shift in the final hours of the window, potentially leading to unexpected opportunities.
