Aaronson joined Leeds United in the summer of 2022 as the Whites contended with their second Premier League season after their return to the top flight of English football. However, after their relegation in the 2022-23 season, the USMNT star joined Union Berlin on loan as part of a relegation clause.
Following the season-long loan away from Elland Road, Aaronson has decided to stay at Leeds United for their second straight season down in the Championship. The attacking midfielder was on the scoresheet for Daniel Farke's side in their first win of the season against Sheffield Wednesday, and he has now opened up on his warm reception from the Leeds fans.
When asked about being applauded by Leeds fans, Aaronson said: "For sure. It was tough at first coming back, with a lot of nerves, and a lot of not being sure at moments but I couldn't have asked for the reception that I have got and the guys and the team welcoming me back.
"It's been really good and I know it's going to be tough at first but I think with my mindset and my mentality, I am going to do the best I can and I think they know it too."
The USMNT star is set to stay with Farke's side this summer and will hope to be the star for the Whites as they look to return to the Premier League for next season. Leeds will be in action again when they take on Hull City on Saturday, August 31.
