Erling Haaland, Manchester City's striker, has urged his team to end their 'horrific' season on a positive note by winning the FA Cup.

Manchester City will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 17, representing their last chance to claim silverware in the 2024/25 campaign.

Pep Guardiola's side was eliminated from both the Carabao Cup and Champions League, and has dropped to fourth in the Premier League, trailing champions Liverpool by 18 points.

'This season has been really tough,' Haaland told BBC Sport. 'It's not nice to lose so many games; it's boring and not fun. That's why we need to finish strongly and secure a trophy.'

'It's a good habit to reach Wembley, and winning trophies is always crucial. We have the FA Cup final ahead, and in this horrific season, making it this far speaks volumes.'

'Having won four league titles in a row, failing to win a fifth means it's not a successful season. Those are the standards we've set.'

'We haven't performed well enough in the league, but we're still aiming for Champions League qualification.'

'Crystal Palace is a tough opponent. We drew 2-2 at Selhurst Park in December, and they started strongly at the Etihad in our 5-2 win last month. They're an impressive team with quality players.'
